Presidential Debate Set for GOP Confab

The Western Republican Leadership Conference announced Wednesday they will host a debate for the GOP presidential contenders in Las Vegas on Oct. 18.

The debate, to be broadcast by CNN, is the first to be scheduled in Nevada. The Silver State is one of the first states on the presidential primary calendar to register its pick in the GOP race. The WRLC has been billed as an event for all of the White House hopefuls to meet with Nevada Republicans ahead of the party caucuses on Feb. 18.

The conference also announced that former Rep. Jon Porter (R) will serve as its chairman.
