Heard on the Hill: Take Five!

Every Tuesday, HOH gets to know a Member of Congress better through a series of five fun questions. This week, we’re chatting with Rep. Lou Barletta. It turns out that the Pennsylvania Republican is a fan of MGD, the Gipper and Jimmy Stewart.

Q: What team do you think will win the Stanley Cup?

A: Right now, I’m more excited to see the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins win the Calder Cup!

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone (aside from your family), who would it be and why?

A: If we’re allowed to include those who’ve passed away, I would love to have had the opportunity to sit down with Ronald Reagan — a great American, a strong executive and a wonderful communicator.

Q: What’s your favorite drink?

A: I’ve been a big fan of Miller Genuine Draft since college, but I also love a good Yuengling.

Q: What’s your favorite movie of all time?

A: “It’s A Wonderful Life” is a terrific movie that really drives home the importance of family, community and doing the right thing in the face of adversity.

Q: Who’s your best friend in Congress?

A: While I’m close with the members of the Pennsylvania delegation, Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) has been a terrific help to me in these first few weeks in office.
