Heard on the Hill: Playing to the Crowd

Talk about singing for your supper — Rep. Michael McCaul serenaded attendees of a fundraiser last week, joining the band onstage to play guitar for a song.

The Texas Republican joined the band playing the Thursday night function, jamming on Robert Earl Keen’s “Feelin’ Good Again,” a spy tells HOH. 

The cowboy-boot-wearing McCaul wasn’t the only Congressional performer. Rep. John Sullivan (R-Okla.) made a cameo, providing vocals.

The crowd gathered at Hill Country, the new Texas-style barbecue joint, apparently enjoyed the show, although McCaul got a better review from our spy than Sullivan did.

“McCaul was pretty good on the guitar, but as far as singing, they left a lot to be desired,” the tipster says.
