Heard on the Hill: Meghan McCain Gets ‘Naked’

Senatorial spawn Meghan McCain is checking off all the boxes of modern fame. Blog? Check. Naughty Twitter pics? Yup. Dishy memoir? Done.

Now she has scaled another rung on the ladder to infamy: posing nude.

But it’s not quite as scandalous as it sounds. The daughter of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) appears sans clothes in a new public service announcement — but it’s for a good cause (fighting skin cancer) and she doesn’t flash any skin below the upper chest (so dad can breathe a sigh of relief).

The ad features sorta-famous gals, including singer/actress Brandy and former “Cosby Show” kid Tempestt Bledsoe, showing safe-for-TV amounts of skin while talking suggestively about what they’ve done “naked.” Brandy says she drove her convertible naked; Bledsoe claims to have played tennis naked. Turns out, they’re talking about going without sunscreen — not clothing.

“My mother would be so ashamed,” McCain coos. She appears to be in the buff, wearing only a large pair of gold hoop earrings. In one shot, she raises her arms as if to shield her face from the sun.

As racy as the ad might be, its message is serious. “Don’t be one of 20 people who will die today from skin cancer,” a voice says.

The issue is personal for McCain, whose father has struggled with the disease.

The ad was produced by the Style Network and will run on air and online. It’s part of the network’s “Fight With Style” campaign, which just released findings from a study showing that only one in five women wear sunscreen daily.
