Army Veteran to Join Indiana 2nd District Race

Indiana Democrats expect Army veteran Brendan Mullen (D) to announce his bid for the 2nd district this week.

Mullen’s entrance into the race comes a couple of months after Rep. Joe Donnelly (D) announced he would run for Senate.

Earlier this year, GOP lawmakers redrew the 2nd district to include more areas traditionally won by Republican candidates. Soon after that, Donnelly announced he would seek the Senate seat instead of running for re-election to the House.

Former state Rep. Jackie Walorski (R), who unsuccessfully challenged Donnelly last year, is seeking the House seat a second time.
