Member-Vs.-Member Race on Tap for GOP in Illinois

Freshman Rep. Adam Kinzinger will kick off his re-election campaign Saturday in Illinois’ redrawn 16th district, setting up a primary contest with one of his fellow Republicans, 10-term Rep. Don Manzullo.

The state’s Democratic-led redistricting plan is tied up in a lawsuit, and Kinzinger’s spokeswoman confirmed that he’ll seek re-election in the 16th if the new map stands in court. A Manzullo spokesman confirmed he also will seek re-election in the 16th district.
