House GOP Leaders to Headline November Super PAC Event

The Congressional Leadership Fund super PAC announced top GOP House Members will headline its first event on Nov. 2.

“We are honored to have special guests Speaker [John] Boehner, Leader [Eric] Cantor, Whip [Kevin] McCarthy and the entire House Republican Leadership team for our inaugural event,” former Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.), chairman of the Congressional Leadership Fund’s board of directors, said in statement.

National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (Texas), Chief Deputy Majority Whip Peter Roskam (Ill.) and NRCC Deputy Chairman Greg Walden (Ore.) are also on the roster for the evening event.

Republican rainmaker Fred Malek, one of the group’s board members, described its efforts as “an opportunity for center-right voices throughout America to support our House Republican majority” in a press release.

The political action committee bills itself as solely focused on helping the GOP hold the House majority and counter national Democratic fundraising efforts, including those of House Majority PAC. Terry Holt, a spokesman for the group, would not divulge any fundraising goals for the super PAC — only that “the goal is to raise as much money as necessary.”

Brian O. Walsh, a former political director at the NRCC, will serve as president of the Congressional Leadership Fund.
