HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Delegate Votes All of the Above for Tourist Moving

Those herky-jerky, accordion-like Tourmobiles have been off the streets for but a short time, but Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) is already raring to see more enviro-friendly transports circling the National Mall.

Norton isn’t quite sure what the next generation of people-moving machines might look like, but she does support deploying more bikes and pedicabs.

She, likewise, expects local tourist wranglers to shy away from fossil-fuel-fired vehicles.

“I write to reiterate my hope that the National Park Service transportation plan will be multi-modal, people-friendly, green, and, of course, cost-effective for both tourists and NPS,” the Congresswoman pleaded in a recent letter.

We vote for fleets of tricked out Segways, rental hover boards and perhaps a VIP jetpack (or two).
