Heard on the Hill: Watch Me Walk!
The second hour of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s (R-Va.) new video series, which HOH has taken to calling “24 Boring Hours With Eric Cantor,” was released this week.
The first boring hour was released in October and covered 9 to 10 a.m. We can’t remember much about what happened in this clip except that Cantor walked down a spiral staircase with people following him.
One quick grumble about this first recorded hour: Cantor uses the term “very unique” in his voice-over. Sir, not one thing can be “very unique.” It can only be unique. Thank you for your attention on this matter. We will now move on.
The “Snapshot of the Leader” series, for those who haven’t had the pleasure, is a collection of short black-and-white stop-motion YouTube clips that show the Virginia Republican standing near his staff, speaking to other Members and doing stuff like walking.
Also, the clips are overlaid with a soundtrack that is somewhere between soft-rock-it-to-me and guitar-Muzak-to-annoy-your-friends-and-colleagues. All of these could be forgiven if the viewer learned anything about the Majority Leader, but, alas, they do not.
At one point Cantor does say that America is a country with no limits.
Wait a second. In America, there are no limits? Cool! So all this stuff about the national debt and living within our means is hooey, right? Run up the national credit cards!
Cantor’s office politely chose not to comment for this item.
