New Perry TV Ad Takes Aim at Obama (VIDEO)
Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) released a new TV ad today that directly targets President Barack Obama and does not mention his fellow GOP contenders.
The ad, which will air on national cable and on Iowa broadcast and cable television, begins with a clip of Obama saying, “We’ve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades.”
Perry looks into the camera and asks, “Can you believe that? That’s what our president thinks is wrong with America? That Americans are lazy?”
The quote is from Saturday, when the president was engaging in a business summit question and answer session with Boeing CEO James McNerney, Jr.
Obama was describing an American business environment that was not active enough in seeking foreign investment in the United States. “We aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America,” Obama said.
In the spot, Perry describes the comment as “pathetic” and Obama’s policies as “socialist.”
