Mary Jo Kilroy Poll Shows Big Lead in Ohio

Former Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy (D) is the strong frontrunner in Ohio’s 3rd district, according to a survey released by her campaign today.

The poll done for Kilroy showed her leading the Democratic field with 48 percent almost two months before the March 6 primary.

State Rep. Ted Celeste got 17 percent and former state House Minority Leader Joyce Beatty received 14 percent in the survey.

Republicans completely redrew the 3rd district in redistricting earlier this year to make it a safe Democratic seat based in urban Columbus. No current Members live in the district, and Democrats are expected to win the new seat easily.

Benenson Strategy Group conducted the survey of 400 likely Democratic primary voters Jan. 9-11. The margin of error was 4.9 points.
