Shop Talk: Pascrell Hires Justin Myers as Campaign Manager

New Jersey Rep. Bill Pascrell has hired Justin Myers to manage his campaign against fellow Democratic Rep. Steven Rothman.

Myers ran a successful state Senate race last year, was field director for Rep. Jim Himes’ (D-Conn.) 2010 re-election and has worked on races in Long Island, Queens and Manhattan.

“He’s an incredibly bright guy who has a practical understanding of how to run a successful campaign,” Pascrell said in a statement today. “His vast experience and political instincts will be tremendous assets to our efforts. I look forward to working with him in the weeks ahead.”

Pascrell is facing Rothman in a redistricting-caused primary for a safe Democratic district in northern New Jersey. It’s expected to be among the most competitive and costly Member-vs.-Member races in the country.
