DSCC Raised $5 Million in January

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee today announced raising $5 million in January and ending the month with $15.4 million on hand as it works to hold on to the Senate majority.

The committee’s monthly haul was a $1.5 million increase from December, when the National Republican Senatorial Committee outraised the DSCC by $1 million. The DSCC has now raised $47 million total for the 2012 cycle.

The NRSC, which had $11.4 million on hand at the end of December, has yet to release its January fundraising totals.

“Democrats and honest Republicans recognize that we are now in position to keep the Senate majority this year, and that is being reflected by strong fundraising hauls for the committee and our campaigns,” DSCC Executive Director Guy Cecil said in a statement. “We have recruited great candidates, built significant fundraising advantages, and are assembling unprecedented ground games to turn out our voters this November.”
