Illinois: Schneider Airs First TV Spot in 10th District
Businessman Brad Schneider went up with his first television advertisement in Illinois’ 10th district race, marking the second Democrat in that primary to hit the airwaves.
“We’re movers, forward thinkers, people who get things done,” Schneider says in the spot. “But the tea party and Republicans like Bob Dold are holding us back. In Congress, I’ll move us in the right direction.”
Schneider faces Air Force Reserve Col. John Tree and former MoveOn.org activist Ilya Sheyman in the March 20 primary. Sheyman became the first candidate on the air in the race when he started airing TV ads in mid-February. Tree is not on the air yet.
The nominee will run against Dold, a GOP freshman, in the highly competitive district north of Chicago. Roll Call rates this race as Leans Democratic.
According to a Schneider aide, the campaign will spend “upwards of $20,000 each week” on this ad in the final two weeks before the primary.
