Crossroads Up With New Ad Backed by Big Money

The juggernaut pro-Republican organization Crossroads GPS launched a new ad today in key presidential swing states backed by $7 million.

“Why isn’t the economy stronger?” a throaty male narrator asks at the beginning of the ad over an image of an old-fashion stopwatch. “In the seconds it takes to watch this, our national debt will increase 1.4 million.”

The ad then shows a 2008 clip of President Barack Obama in which he says, “We can’t mortgage our children’s future on a mountain of debt.”

“Now he’s adding four billion [dollars] in debt, every day,” the narrator says over the ticking of a stopwatch. “Borrowing from China for his spending. Every second, growing our debt faster than our economy. Tell Obama, stop the spending.”

The ad will air for two weeks on network television in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
