New Democrat For Stabenow’s Top Aide

While you were partying it up in Charlotte, N.C., or Tampa, Fla. (or watching speech after speech from the coziness of your couch with a glass of Merlot), Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s chief of staff, Amanda Renteria, was giving birth to the next generation of Democrats.

Renteria tells HOH that Trinidad James “TJ” Branneria was born Aug. 31. The 7 lb., 6 oz., 19-inch-long boy was named after Renteria’s father.
“I think the fact that he waited until after the [GOP] convention but before the Dem convention makes him a Democrat,” Renteria said in an email.

Both mom and baby appear to be doing well. And HOH suspects Renteria is happy to have little TJ in hand, rather than having to help Stabenow, the chairwoman of the Agriculture Committee, navigate the legislative endgame for the farm bill.

TJ joins big brother Diego Patrick Branneria, age 2, and dad Patrick James Brannelly.
