Daily Ad Track
All over the country, biographical television spots are giving way to negative attack ads.
The Susan B. Anthony List announced Thursday the initiation of a $150,000 TV ad campaign against President Barack Obama in Ohio. It intends to include in that campaign an ad it previously aired in Missouri, which featured an abortion survivor.
But the ad that caught our attention was a negative spot from Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.).
Here are some of our other favorite ads from today:

The West spot sparked a frenzy on Twitter this morning. Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Executive Director Guy Cecil tweeted, “FL Rep. Allen West attacks his opponent for fighting in a bar. Has he met
#
FLSencandidate Connie Mack??” Bar brawls have surfaced in a Florida Senate race ad as well.
Meanwhile, supporters of House Democrats are going negative on West. House Majority PAC, a Democratic super PAC, announced it was increasing its investment in the district to more than $1.5 million. This comes after the news that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee was canceling a week of airtime starting Oct. 9.

The American Action Network, a GOP super PAC, put up a negative ad against former Rep. Rick Nolan (D) in his tossup bid to oust Rep. Chip Cravaack (R). The point of the ad is to tie Nolan to his first stint in Congress, which concluded in the late 1970s. The group’s news release called it “an additional $110,000 television and digital ad campaign.” It will run on broadcast in the Duluth market.
It reminded us a little bit of an ad Meg Whitman (R) used in her bid for California governor two years ago, in which she attempted to tie Jerry Brown (D) to his previous stint in the governor’s office, which ended in the early 1980s. It wasn’t successful, as Brown defeated Whitman.
Wisconsin Senate
Former Gov. Tommy Thompson (R) — already a well-known brand in the Badger State — is up with an ad tagging Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D) as “too liberal for Pelosi,” referring to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). His campaign declined to disclose the amount of money behind the buy.

Virginia Senate
Former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine (D) takes a page from the Democrats’ 2010 playbook — he uses a montage of elderly people to go negative against his fellow former governor and ex-Sen. George Allen (R) that was similar in tone and appearance to an ad launched Thursday by the DSCC. Both featured senior citizens speaking to the camera about Social Security.

The DCCC is up with its first independent expenditure boosting Rep. Leonard Boswell’s (D) bid against Rep. Tom Latham (R). The buy is for $400,000 in the Omaha, Neb., and Des Moines markets, and the ad runs today through Oct. 8, per a committee spokesman.
Pennsylvania 8
Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R) went negative in his most recent spot against attorney Kathy Boockvar (D). Fitzpatrick’s campaign declined to give the exact buy size and run time for this spot. But a Fitzpatrick spokeswoman said the campaign has purchased $1 million in airtime from October through Election Day.
