Former Rep. Steven C. LaTourette — the high-profile moderate Ohio Republican who blamed gridlock and political infighting for his retirement — will not stray far from the Capitol Dome.

He announced two new roles on Tuesday: as a Washington lobbyist and a political action committee director.

LaTourette and his wife will open a Washington, D.C.-based government affairs subsidiary of McDonald Hopkins LLC, a large Cleveland, Ohio law firm. Jennifer LaTourette, a lobbyist with Van Scoyoc and Associates who has represented the Airports Council International, will join him in the new office overlooking Capitol Hill, according to a press release.

The former nine-term lawmaker will also take the reins of the Republican Main Street Partnership, a PAC that spent just under $500,000 in support of moderate House Republicans last cycle.

He’ll replace former Republican Rep. Thomas M. Davis III of Virginia as president and CEO of the PAC, which “is dedicated to supporting a pragmatic, fiscally conservative ‘governing majority’ where political debate is encouraged to promote solutions to improve the lives of all Americans,” according to the release.
