Complaint Filed Against Gohmert Over Parking Ticket

The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) for conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House. Gohmert was issued a citation for parking his black Ford SUV in a reserved spot, and officers at the scene said he was “rude and irate” and “ranting.” CREW criticized Gohmert’s “sense of entitlement.”
Rep. Gohmert does like cars and campaign funds. A Louie Gohmert for Congress campaign finance report (see page 123) shows he used $24,850 in campaign funds to purchase an auto on 8/19/11 from Mike Perry Chevrolet in San Augustine, TX.
