Major League Baseball Gives $100K to Politicians

The PAC gave to 25 members or their leadership PACs. The Boehner for Speaker committee received $10,000. The Office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball PAC reported it also raised $35,000 in March, including $10,000 from nine employees of the Atlanta Braves. This included $1,000 from Hank Aaron, Senior VP. Also giving were David Montgomery (president, Philadelphia Phillies) $5,000; John Fisher (Oakland Athletics) $5,000; William DeWitt (general partner, St. Louis Cardinals) $5,000; Michael Stiles (VP, Cincinnati Reds) $5,000; and Lewis Wolf (owner, Oakland Athletics) $5,000. In the fourth quarter of 2012, the Office of Major League Baseball paid $60,000 to Baker & Hostetler LLP to lobby on stadium security issues, military advertising, immigration issues, performance-enhancing substance issues, and mental health programs for veterans.
