Remainders: If You Got It, Flaunt It. Early.
If you got it, flaunt it. And in campaign fundraising, the best flaunt their numbers early.
There are several days yet until campaigns are required to file their first quarter fundraising reports with the Federal Election Commission. Typically, only campaigns with hauls worth bragging about release their figures early.
Here’s are the congressional campaign fundraising figures that caught our eye on Thursday:
Senate
- Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., raised $1.9 million and has $3.4 million cash on hand, per the Associated Press.
- Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, raised $1.1 million and has more than $1 million cash on hand.
- Sen. Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., raised $1.2 million and has $3.46 million cash on hand. Her new opponent, GOP Rep. Bill Cassidy raised $500,000. Cassidy’s cash on hand was not immediately available.
- Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., raised 1.23 million and has $1.46 million cash on hand, per the New Hampshire Union Leader.
- Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas, raised $1.85 million and has $4.2 million cash on hand.
- Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., raised $2 million and has $2 million cash on hand. Part of that fundraising campaign included a raffled brunch with late night host Conan O’Brien.
House
- NY-11: New York City Councilman Domenic M. Recchia Jr., raised $412,000 and has $407,000 cash on hand, according to a press release from the Democrat’s campaign. He is challenging Republican Rep. Michael G. Grimm.
