FEC Enforcement Manual Disclosed

An inside look into a manual of the core components of the enforcement process used by attorneys and staff of the Federal Election Commission is now available for all, especially if you are the subject of a FEC compliance matter.

The June 2013 version of the FEC’s Office of the General Counsel Enforcement Manual has been made available as an agenda document for today’s commission meeting. The 112-page manual includes a summary of FEC compliance activities, an explanation of the enforcement process, a flowchart, a description of the office of the general counsel, organizational charts, resources available to attorneys and staff, procedures and issues that may arise in the enforcement process, a description of the various stages of the enforcement process, and guidance on issues pertaining to the individual stages.

This is a must for your campaign finance library. It’s best to put it on your summer reading list now — there may not be enough time when you really need it.
