The forced-upon-us neighborhood nickname of NoMA (North of Massachusetts Avenue) is here to stay, for better or worse. On the bright side, it does means the NoMA Summer Screen series is a part of the hood’s upcoming Wednesday landscape.

This latest of outdoor movie festivals started on May 22 with “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.” Along the way since then, it’s featured some good celluloid escapism, such as “The Princess Bride” and the remake of “The Italian Job,” along with a selection of D.C.’s finest food trucks to feed the masses.

And this week, it will feature the kids-rite-of-passage adventure flick “The Goonies,” which just happens to star Gen-X stars Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman and Martha Plimpton, among others.
