Fridge DC, Rollergirls Host Benefit Concert for Frager’s Hardware

At a minimum, the folks at Frager’s Hardware should know this: People on Capitol Hill from all walks of life freaking love them.

Since the devastating fire to Frager’s HQ on June 5, businesses, government, community centers and plain old citizens have lined up to help out with the reopening of the iconic Capitol Hill institution and to help its employees.

The Fridge DC art gallery on Barracks Row (516 Eighth St. SE, rear alley) is the latest to jump into the fray, and it’s getting an assist from the rock ’em, sock ’em types from DC Rollergirls in hosting a benefit concert at the gallery on Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Throckmortens, the NativeMakers and Rodney Henry of The Glenmont Popes will let ‘er rip, with all proceeds going to the Frager’s Fund that has been set up by the Capitol Hill Community Foundation. Tickets are $20.

If that’s not enough to entice you, the sponsors of the event should. There’s your beer firm (DC Brau), pie firm (Dangerously Delicious Pies) and music firm (Quicksilver Productions.)

Art. Roller derby. Rock and roll. Beer. Pie. Could it get any better?
