Former Rep. Jerry Lewis Starts PAC With $856K

Former Rep. Jerry Lewis, R-Calif., reported he had converted his campaign committee, Lewis for Congress Committee, into a PAC called the Jerry Lewis Political Action Committee.

Lewis served in Congress from 1979 through 2012. He was chairman of the House Appropriations Committee from 2005 to 2006. He was a strong supporter of earmarks.

During his career, Lewis raised $10.6 million, including $5.7 million from PACs.  View his career campaign financing figures.

Lewis also has a leadership PAC, Future Leaders PAC, that reported $45,150 in cash on hand at the end of 2012.
