Bachmann for Congress Pays $100K in Legal Fees

The House campaign committee of Rep. Michele Bachmann reported this afternoon it paid $100,000 to Patton Boggs LLP on June 25 for legal services. This is in addition to the $55,000 paid to Patton Boggs LLP in the second quarter by the Bachmann for President Committee.

Bachmann for Congress Committee reported it had receipts of $833,131 and disbursements of $889,577 in the second quarter, leaving $1,800,459 cash on hand. The committee raised $614,074 from donors contributing $200 or less. The committee itemized $200,773 from contributors giving in excess of $200. PACs and other committees gave $7,500.

The committee spent $197,263 on direct mail; $142,177 on media advertising; $100,000 on legal services; $71,614 on telemarketing. The committee transferred $140,000 to the Bachmann for President committee.
