PAC of Engineers Union Gives $900,000 to Legislators

The political action committee of an international union gave $900,000 to members of Congress during the month of June.

The Engineers Political Education Committee (EPEC) of the International Union of Operating Engineersreported it contributed $905,000 in June with 251 contributions. Most of the contributions were either $2,500 or $5,000. One contribution of $5,000 was returned.

Those giving out large amounts of campaign contributions are often those who have been the most active on lobbying legislative issues before Congress during that month.

PAC $204,325; American Crystal Sugar Company PAC $202,500; Microsoft Corporation PAC $194,500; Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc. PAC $173,232; National Beer Wholesalers Association PAC $168,500; American Resort Development Association Resort Owners Coalition PAC $159,500; General Electric Company PAC $159,500; Int’l. Brotherhood of Electrical Workers PAC $157,675; and United Association Political Education Committee $150,200.

PACs reporting early and giving $100,000 to $150,000 in contributions include:

United Steelworkers Political Action Fund $150,000; Humana Inc. PAC $142,500; Union Pacific Corp. Fund for Effective Government $142,500; PricewaterhouseCoopers PAC I $142,000; KPMG Partners/Principals and Employees PAC $126,200; Automotive Free International Trade PAC $110,500; and National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association PAC $104,500.
