Hot? Help Celebrate National Ice Cream Day

So, it’s hot.

And while we’re expecting the occasional thunderstorm this weekend, it’s liable to be muggy and gross most of the weekend.

Time to fight back — with ice cream.

On Sunday, Union Market will host the third annual DC Scoop to celebrate National Ice Cream Day. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 1309 Fifth St. NE, come help yourself to free samples from a dairy farm’s worth of ice cream and other frozen dessert providers, including Gifford’sPitango gelato and Milk Cult. Oh, it’s free, and there will be music and that kind of stuff, too.
