Gabrielle Giffords’ PAC Raises $6.5 Million, Bloomberg Donates

The federal super PAC of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., reported today raising $6.5 million for her efforts at gun control.

Americans for Responsible Solutions reported it had receipts of $6,645,722 (including rebates) and spent $1,866,752 during the the first six months of 20113, leaving $4,778,969 cash on hand as of June 30. The PAC raised $3.2 million from contributors giving $200 or less.

Individual contributors included Marc R. Benioff (CEO, SalesForce.com, Calif.) $500,000; Michael Bloomberg (Mayor, New York City) $250,000; Mostyn Law Firm (Texas) $250,000; Kenneth Levine (Senior VP, McAfee, Mass.) $50,000; Marissa Mayer (executive, Yahoo, Calif.) $25,000; Steven Ungerleider (Integrated Research Services, Ore.) $25,000; Matthew Barger (MRB Capital LLC, Calif.) $20,000; Nancy Blachman (founder, Math Delights, Calif.) $25,000; among others.

The PAC paid Revolution Messaging LLC (D.C.) $577,120 for media consulting and media purchases.

Update: A PAC spokesperson stated they do have a 501(c)(4) account that had more receipts than the PAC, although details have not been released.
