C-SPAN Producer Annie Tin Replaces Jerry Gallegos at Helm of House Daily Gallery
Annie Tin, a longtime senior producer for C-SPAN, will replace Jerry Gallegos as superintendent of the House Daily Press Gallery.
Tin, who has served as the senior House and Senate Capitol Hill producer since 1997, was chosen by the Standing Committee of Correspondents based on her familiarity with Washington reporters.
“Annie brings unusual energy and vision to the job, and we’re pleased to have her as part of the team,” said Chairman David Lightman.
In addition to C-SPAN, Tin worked as a legislative reporter at Congressional Quarterly, a government reporter at the Orlando Sentinel and a research associate at the Chicago Tribune. Tin graduated from American University with a double major in communications and political science.
As superintendent, she will supervise a five-person staff that helps reporters better interact with how the House works. The gallery also keeps minute-by-minute logs of House activity, assists in credentialing reporters and acts as a strong advocate for journalists in dealing with lawmakers, law enforcement officials and staff.
Gallegos had served in the gallery for 44 years before retiring in August.
