Republican Bradley Byrne is the leader in fundraising for Tuesday’s special primary in Alabama’s 1st District. The congressional seat became vacant when then Rep. Jo Bonner, R-Ala., resigned to become the vice chancellor of the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.

Bradley Bryne, R-Ala., reported raising $317,245 through 9/4 and has since reported additional contributions.

Another top fundraiser was Dean Young, R-Ala., who reported raising $176,214. The PAC of 2012 Nevada Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle has spent $10,000 for an ad supporting Young.

Another top fundraiser was Wells Griffith, R-Ala., who reported raising $162,251 through Sept. 4. The leadership PAC of Rep. Paul D. Ryan, R-Wis., gave $5,000.  Griffith has since reported additional contributions from Bobbie Kilberg (president and CEO, Northern Virginia Technology Council) $1,000; Ron Kaufman (consultant, McKenna Long & Aldridge, D.C.) $1,000; G.O. Griffith (partner, BGR Group, VA) $1,600; and Ray Washbourne (CEO, Charter Holdings, Texas) $2,600; and AX PAC (the leadership PAC of Rep. Sean Duffy, R-Wis.).

Update: Our Voice, the PAC of Sharon Angle, reported on 9/24 that it had spent $40,152 on independent expenditures supporting Dean Young.
