Healthcare Firm Aims to Control Potential Shutdown Baby Boom

It’s not exactly a free lunch. But NV Healthcare LLC wants to help furloughed federal workers satisfy another craving.

The New York-based company has wrapped its head around the lingering shutdown and come up with a stopgap solution: free contraception for the duration of the government standoff. Take that, non-functioning Obamacare sign-up portals!

Those in need must include a copy of a valid federal or military ID with their email request (nuvo@nuvocondoms.com) in order to receive the promotional six-pack of condoms NüVo will be providing free of charge (retail value: $5.49 a pop). Refills will come six at a time.

“We have received over 200 responses so far, and a handful are from the DC-metro area,” NüVo marketing director Behn Goldis told HOH of the mushrooming interest in the gratis condoms. “With more recreational time on their hands and no paychecks coming in, we felt that this is the right thing for us to do.”
