Michigan Republican Posts $2 Million for Senate Campaign

Former Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land raised about $2 million in the third quarter for her Senate bid — with about $1 million of that sum coming from a personal contribution, according to a campaign source.

She is expected to report about $2 million in the bank in her race for the open Senate seat in Michigan.

Land is the likely GOP nominee for Senate. She will most almost certainly face Rep. Gary Peters, the likely Democratic nominee, in the general election in 2014.

But Land faces an uphill climb in her race to replace retiring Sen. Carl Levin, a Democrat, in the Senate. This race is rated Safe Democrat by Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call.
