Rep. Mike McIntyre, one of the most vulnerable House incumbents, raised $189,000 in the third quarter of 2013, according to his most recent fundraising report.

The North Carolina Democrat’s most recent haul is about 20 percent less than the $236,000 he raised in the previous fundraising quarter. He reported $524,000 in cash on hand.

McIntyre is one of seven Democrats representing districts that GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney carried in 2012, making him a top GOP target in 2014. Romney carried North Carolina’s 7th District by a 19-point margin last cycle.

McIntyre is facing a rematch with former state Sen. David Rouzer, whom he defeated by just 654 votes in 2012 — the closest margin of a House race in the cycle.

Rouzer has yet to file his third-quarter report, which covers money raised from July through September. The report is not due until Oct. 15, but that date might change because the Federal Election Commission has been affected by the government shutdown.

Last quarter, Rouzer raised $182,000 and reported $168,000 in cash on hand.

North Carolina’s 7th District is rated a Pure Toss-Up contest by Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call.
