Business PACs are have started to move serious PAC contributions into the business-friendly candidate in the Alabama Republican special primary runoff election next Tuesday.

Businessman Bradley Byrne, R-Ala., reported this afternoon to the Federal Election Commission that he had received numerous contributions of $1,000 or more from 10/29 through 10/30. Over $50,000 came from the PACs of companies and business associations.

Contributions included $5,000 each from Pfizer PAC, National Beer Wholesalers Assn. PAC, AFLAC PAC, Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers PAC, BASF Corporation Employees PAC, National Assn. of Home Builders PAC, and the U.S. Chamber PAC. In another report, the Chamber reported it made $185,122 in independent expenditures supporting Byrne.

PAC donors giving $1,000 each included the National Cattlemen’s Beef Assn. PAC, Spectra Energy PAC, and the National Apartment Assn. PAC.
