American Bridge Announces New Campaign

American Bridge, a Democratic opposition research super PAC, unveiled its new Correct the Record campaign last week.

The effort is meant to “repel false attacks against potential Democratic Presidential aspirants by the Republican Party and conservative organizations in anticipation of the 2016 Presidential race,” according to a release.

Burns Strider will serve as vice president and senior adviser to Correct the Record; Isaac Wright will be director of daily operations; Adrienne Elrod is the campaign’s communications director; and Sam Ritzman will be the research director.

Dacey to the DNC

Democratic National Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida named Amy Dacey as her committee’s new CEO. Most recently, she was the executive director at EMILY’s List. Dacey will start the new gig in January 2014.

Acuña Matata

Texas Democratic operative Rebecca Acuña is headed home to be the press secretary on state Sen. Wendy Davis’ gubernatorial campaign.

Most recently, Acuña worked on Capitol Hill as communications director for Rep. Pete Gallego, D-Texas. Democratic operative Karin Johanson also recently signed onto the Davis team as campaign manager.

Pardo the Interruption

Ali Pardo joined the Republican National Committee as its new Hispanic media press secretary last week. For the past two years, Pardo served in Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio’s office as a press assistant and as an intern for his 2010 Senate campaign.

The Gailey Rundown

Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Bill Shuster’s communications director, Gretchen Gailey, is headed to the public relations firm Blueprint Communications as a new senior associate. Gailey is a former journalist, with stints at NBC News, Fox News, local affiliates and The Associated Press.

Bosworth Staffs Up

Dr. Annette Bosworth, a Republican candidate for Senate in South Dakota, hired two firms to run her digital campaign strategy: DC London and Campaign Grid.

Bosworth is running in a crowded Republican primary, along with front-runner and former Gov. Mike Rounds, to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Tim Johnson.

Williams’ Global-ization

Democratic operative Emily Williams joined Global Strategy Group last week as its New York-based digital and social director.

Williams launched Blueprint Interactive in May 2011, and she was the online advertising campaign manager for President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign.

Bentivolio Challenger Hires Devine Mulvey Longabaugh

Former State Department official Bobby McKenzie announced last week that Devine Mulvey Longabaugh will handle his media campaign.

McKenzie is running for the Democratic nomination in Michigan’s 11th District. The winner of that race will face off against Republican Rep. Kerry Bentivolio or attorney David Trott in the general election.

Resolute Hires Mobile Director

Rick Albert recently joined public affairs and communications firm Resolute Consulting as its new mobile development director. Previously, he was the owner and operator of EXT Brokerage.
