Democrats in House leadership and the Florida delegation are scheduled to host a Dec. 4 fundraiser in Washington, D.C., for former Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, according to an invitation obtained by Roll Call.

Sink is running in the special election to replace the late Republican Rep. C.W. Bill Young. Lobbyist David Jolly is running for the GOP nomination and it remains unclear if he will have a primary rival, although state Sen. Kathleen Peters will announce on Tuesday whether she will run.

Requested donations for Sink’s fundraiser range from $250 to $5,000 for political action committees. The event will take place at a downtown law firm with a government affairs arm.

Sink is a safe bet to win her party’s nomination on Jan. 14. The general election is on March 11.

The filing deadline for the 13th District special election is Tuesday at noon.

The race is rated Tossup by Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call.
