Updated 4 p.m. | The campaign arm of House Democrats brought in $5 million during November, according to figures shared first with CQ Roll Call by a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee aide.

The committee will report $27.6 million in the bank and zero debt.

The DCCC boasts a fundraising advantage over its counterpart, the National Republican Congressional Committee, which has yet to publicly release its November fundraising. The monthly reports are due Friday.

But House Democrats, who hold the minority, faced a greater fundraising challenge in November. The administration’s disastrous rollout of  HealthCare.gov sunk party morale and, according to many operatives, neutralized any political advantage Democrats gained during the government shutdown in October.

Also last month, President Barack Obama boosted the DCCC’s coffers with high-dollar fundraising events in Seattle and Los Angeles. Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. also did a fundraiser in Baltimore.

The DCCC aide boasted that the committee raised more last month than in any previous off-year November and is already $14 million ahead of of its 2011 fundraising.

In 2014, Democrats must win a net of 17 seats to get the majority in the House.

Update 4 p.m

The NRCC announced it raised $4 million last month. That sum is $1 million less than the DCCC brought in during November.

The GOP committee will report $19.6 million in cash on hand and no debt.

An NRCC aide noted it was the committee’s best November fundraising in a non-election year.
