Gillibrand’s PAC Raises $1.3M and Gives $284K to Women Candidates
Off the Sidelines PAC, the leadership PAC of Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., reported it had receipts of $1,329,759 and disbursements of $788,835 from July 1 through December 25, leaving $984,754 cash on hand. For 2013, through 12/25, the PAC had receipts of $2,223,012.
The PAC appeared to target large donors. The PAC received $1,156,675 from 996 itemized contributions, with an average contribution of over $1,100. Half of these donors came from New York and 22% came from California. Those giving $200 or less totaled $116,783.
Some major donors included $5,000 from the following: Gary Cohn (president and COO of Goldman Sachs, NY); James Dinan (founder and CEO, York Capital Management, NY); Blair Efron (founder, Centerview Partners, NY); Jeffrey Gates (president, Gates Capital Management, NY); William Hambrecht (founder, WR Hambrecht & Co, CA); Harold Ickes (consultant, The Ickes & Enright Group, DC); Ruth Porat (CFO, Morgan Stanley, NY); Cheryl Saban (writer, CA); Richard Sands (president, Constellation Brands, NY); Daniel Wegman (CEO, Wegmans, NY); Thomas Wilmot (chairman, Wilmorite Inc., NY); among others.
The PAC received $56,000 from PACs and other committees. Those giving $5,000 included AON PAC; Capital Group Companies PAC; Constellation Brands PAC; Corning Inc. Employees PAC; Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP PAC; and the American Federation of Teachers COPE.
During this period, the PAC gave $284,000 to federal committees. This included contributions to thirty-four women candidates as well as $5,000 to Emily’s List, and $5,000 to the DSCC. The PAC gave eighteen women candidates $10,000 each. For 2013, through 12/25, the PAC has given out $351,000.
