Former College President Indicted in Straw Donor Scheme

The desire to help raise funds for a candidate you support can bring pressure and complications, even for a former college president.

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York announced the Indictment of Dinesh D’Souza with violating federal campaign finance laws by making illegal contributions to a U.S. Senate candidate in the names of others and causing false statements to be made to the Federal Election Commission.
