The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund, an environmental organization, has thrown its support behind a Republican, Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, who is seeking re-election in 2014.

The Collins race is uncompetitive at this point in the cycle. But she is the first Republican to pick up the group’s nod this cycle . “Senator Susan Collins is committed to finding bipartisan solutions that will safeguard our environment and combat climate change while promoting clean energy, which will create good paying jobs and reduce our reliance on dirty fossil fuels,” LCV Action Fund President Gene Karpinski said in a Monday statement. “She is always fighting for the people of Maine by supporting commonsense policies that promote the state’s outdoor heritage and help protect our air, water and public health.”

LCV Action Fund endorsed Collins in 2008, which was a more competitive race for the senator.

The Maine Senate race is rated Safe Republican by Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call.
