Overheard: Tammy Duckworth on Being Discreet About IVF Treatments

“Being in the job I have, it was really hard to keep it, you know, very quiet.”  

— Rep. Tammy Duckworth discussing her in vitro fertilization treatments on NBC’s “Today” show. The Illinois Democrat announced on Monday’s telecast that she is pregnant with a girl and is due in December. Duckworth, a Blackhawk helicopter pilot in the military during the Iraq war, lost her legs when her chopper was shot down in 2004.
