House Democrats raised $16.7 million in September, according to a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee aide.

The committee ended last month with $34 million in the bank. Much of that money is currently being spent on television in House races across the country.  The National Republican Congressional Committee has yet to release its September numbers.

Almost every month this cycle, the DCCC raised more money than its GOP counterpart, the NRCC. But in recent weeks, the DCCC cut television advertising in some of its offensive positions to shore up incumbents.

Cycle-to-date, House Democrats raised $163.2 million.
