Unlike those who tried to distance themselves from President Barack Obama ahead of last month’s power-shifting elections, HOH social media
Hall of Famer Steve Cohen wants everyone to know how much he loves hanging with the commander in chief.

The Tennessee Democrat provided a play-by-play of their recent whirlwind tour of the Volunteer State in a series of giddy tweets and gushing statements. “I was proud to accept President Obama’s invitation to join him as he travelled to Tennessee on Air Force One today,” Cohen crowed in an official statement. “As always, the President was thoughtful, knowledgeable, brilliant, and engaging as he discussed his commonsense moves to address some of the flaws of our nation’s immigration system and called on Congress to fix these problems once and for all.”

The palling around began, naturally, aboard Air Force One.

“Great ride on Air Force One …. Proud to be with Prez!,” Cohen blasted out to his Twitter flock, relating that the two huddled about immigration and all things Memphis during the flight.

The frequent flyer also managed to slip in a Larry David-esque dig about the administration’s sorely lacking accommodations.

“Pretty pretty pretty cool … but no wifi!” Cohen quipped.

Nashville station WKRN quickly got in on the action, trumpeting 44’s arrival …

… as well as the appearance of Rep. Jim Cooper, D-Tenn.

A Cohen fan piggybacked on the media blitz to make sure he got some recognition too.

Once firmly on the ground, Obama propelled Cohen back into the ether by giving him a shout-out while at the mics.

“Good to be with you too, Mr. President!” Cohen beamed while disseminating the embedded video clip.

The speech over, everyone rolled out to the next stop. Along the way, Cohen kept the world abreast of what it’s like to spend a little quality time with the leader of the free world.

“Brilliant, humorous, engaging, aware, sensitive, gracious, thoughtful, knowledgable, hip. my #PresidentObama,” he shared.

His amazing journey nearly complete, Cohen retreated to happier times before shutting out the lights on this illuminating day.

“Also talked to #PresidentObama abt seeing Al Green @kencen Honors,” he said, recounting the recent awards show.

Cohen has a history of cozying up to Obama.

During a presidential swing through Memphis in 2011, Cohen treated the president’s entourage to hometown nosh from Charles Vergos’ Rendezvous and Interstate Barbecue — proving, at least in my mind, that smoked meats are the ultimate chit for currying favor with movers and shakers.
