Pwning a Piece of Presidential History
Following Monday’s conservative pep rally down at Liberty University, it’s obvious that 2016 GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz believes in himself. Personally investing in said product — or, at least, his online persona — is something entirely different.

The tea party favorite might be the first far-right candidate to officially call dibs on moving into the Oval Office post-44, but as Web watchers were quick to point out, he’s way behind the curve when it comes to staking out online positions.

The site appears to have been, at one point, controlled by an Arizona businessman boasting the same moniker.

That Cruz apparently used the space to hawk real estate services through at least 2008 . HOH attempted to contact the Phoenix-based professional about the account, but email queries remained unanswered.
The site underwent a seismic shift at some point between March 2009 (still a real estate plug) and June 2013 (nobody home ).

Per the Internet Archive, the site has been broadcasting the current “Immigration Reform Now!” missive since at least December .
Another cyber-speculator recently snatched up TedCruzforAmerica.org, which appears to currently be focused on simply regurgitating Cruz news — but the owner could clear the decks and mount a disinformation campaign against the first-term lawmaker with just a few keystrokes.
Anticipated challenger Jeb Bush is in a similar boat. While he remains free to continue testing the waters from behind the ethically questionable shelter of his political action committee , the former governor of Florida better not wait too long to get in the game.
Business Insider earlier this year noted that a pair of gay Oregonians has already laid claim to JebBushforPresident.com.
Who knows what kind of troublemaker might set up shop behind JebBush2016.com? (It was still up for grabs when this post was published. )
