GI Film Festival Comes to Canadian Soil
The 2015 GI Film Festival gets underway Monday, and while the bulk of the films and events surrounding the all-things-military fest are at the Angelika Film Center at Mosaic in Fairfax, Va., the international bloc gets the (maple leaf) red carpet treatment on Tuesday at the Canadian Embassy. Starting at 6 p.m., our neighbors to the north will open the film venues at the embassy at 501 Pennsylvania Ave. NW to five flicks, with a reception to follow afterward:
- “Land of the Sun,” from Canada.
- “Who’s Afraid of the Big Black Wolf,” from Slovenia.
- “Run,” from Australia.
- “Unload,” from the United Kingdom.
- “Remember the Fallen,” from France.
Most everything else, such as the One Night in Casablanca event and the Best of the Fest, you’ll need to head to the Mosaic. For tickets and schedule information, go the festival’s website, www.giff15.com .
