Per a birth announcement shared on social media, the latest addition to Team Hudson arrived on Sept. 29, just seconds shy of midnight. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 22 inches long.

“Please continue to pray for the only two things that matter — that Lane is a healthy boy and that he grows in the knowledge that he belongs to God with hunger for a deep, personal relationship with his Lord and Savior,” Hudson alerted well wishers. “I would probably list an NBA lottery pick or a Masters title by the age of 25 as a close third.”

The baby is the first child for Hudson and his wife, Renee, who is chief of staff for Indiana Republican Todd Rokita.
