This year, the Navy asked Congress to add Super Hornets to its fiscal year 2016 budget so they can begin addressing their shortfall of two to three Super Hornet squadrons (24 to 36 aircraft).  In fact, the Navy added 12 aircraft to its fiscal year 2016 unfunded priorities list.

The addition of 12 Super Hornets in the fiscal year 2016 budget, as well as a near-term international sale, will extend production at Boeing’s St. Louis facility into 2019.
