House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Thursday a bill adding new levels of screening for Iraqi and Syrian refugees sent the wrong message to the global community in response to the terrorist attacks in Paris. “We have a responsibility to keep Americans safe. It’s the oath of office we take,” Pelosi said. “Count me as a lioness; anyone comes near my cubs, you’re dead. So we respect the concern, the horror, that exists in our country.”
