White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Friday President Barack Obama will sign the highway funding bill “as soon as it arrives at the White House,” adding reporters should expect a “paper statement” from the president when that occurs. “I’m sure that there are some things about the bill that Republicans don’t love, there are some things about the bill that Democrats don’t love,” Earnest said. “But by identifying some common ground, Democrats and Republicans in Congress were able to do something good for our country and good for our economy.”
